The Midway City Sanitary District was formed in 1939 under the Sanitary District Act of the California Health and Safety Code.
Through a dedicated staff of 28 the District provides refuse collection and sewer service to over 96,000 residents in the City of Westminster and the unincorporated County area known as Midway City. Committed to superior public service, the District implemented automated refuse collection and instituted an innovative recycling program. This action improved customer service, cut costs, and greatly reduced waste disposal at County landfills all with a significantly smaller and more efficient staff.
