Answers:

Refuse & recycle containers should be place out by 6:00 a.m. on your service day, or the evening before collection. Except when your service day falls on a street sweeping day, then place barrels on the curb.

Wheels against the curb, about three feet apart and three feet from any vehicle or object to allow the truck’s automated gripper arms ample room for pick up.

Do not park cars near trash barrels on collection days. If you are having problems with neighbors parking their vehicles in front of or too close to your containers and blocking your containers from being serviced, try placing your containers in front of your driveway.
Bag and tie all trash if possible. Your barrels will stay much cleaner, and when picked up on windy days, bagged paper products and green waste will not blow out of the barrels and scatter around your neighborhood.

Don’t cram material in the barrels. The truck cannot empty overfilled barrels. Lids must be closed on containers to receive proper service. Lids that are left up on containers tend to come open too soon while being dumped and trash spills onto the street.

Recycle as much as possible. This reduces disposal costs and is good for the environment.

Do not put scrap metal, wood, appliances, rocks, dirt, concrete, bricks, tile, carpeting etc. in your refuse and recycle containers. This will damage the truck’s packing mechanism. And containers that are too heavy will break the automatic arms. Containers filled with these items will not be collected.

Please do not put hazardous or toxic materials in your trash, such as paints, motor oil and anti-freeze. This pollutes the groundwater under the landfills. Please take these items to the Hazardous Waste Centers in your community. For more information on where you may take hazardous waste products please click on the following link: Household Hazardous Waste

Dry out grass clippings and other green waste before bagging and placing in your black container. The wet material decomposes rapidly and will smell and stick in the bottom of your container!
If you have a gardener, ask him to take the green waste and dispose of it himself. This reduces the District disposal costs.

The Districts holidays are, New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, the Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day.

If the holiday falls on or before your service day the refuse collection will be one day late for the entire week. Service does not change on any other holidays.

Please note that all provided containers are property of the Midway City Sanitary District. Your cooperation in protecting containers from abuse or negligence will be appreciated.
Remember, when you move from your current place of residence; Even if you move to another residence within Midway City or Westminster. Your trash contains must be left behind. Please put the containers away for the next residents use. Or

In accordance with Ordinance No. 53 of the Midway City Sanitary District, "No Curbside Collection container shall be placed adjacent to a street for collection more than 24 hours prior to collection time. All Curbside Containers shall be removed from the street location within 12 hours after collection and shall be maintained in an area not visible from the street."

On the side of each container is a serial number. Please record the numbers of each of your containers for your records. This makes it easier for you to distinguish your containers from your neighbors.
