Mission Statement

The Board of Directors and Employees of Midway City Sanitary District work diligently to provide sewer and solid waste services to the residents of the District. Our top priority is to accomplish this in an ethical, efficient, and cost effective manner that will protect the health and safety of those we serve.

The Midway City Sanitary District is an independent special district formed in 1939 under the Enabling Act. The District is dedicated to protecting the environment by ensuring reliable sanitary services and maintains 174 miles of sewer mainline that transports 13 million gallons a day to treatment facilities for 100,000 residents residing in Westminster and Midway City.  The proactive maintenance and aggressive capital improvement program are standards we utilize for our mainline and four lift stations help protect waterways and beaches from being contaminated by untreated sewage.

Midway City Sanitary District also provides curbside refuse and recycling collection services to 19,830 residences within the District.  We are proud to have met the State mandate of diverting 50% of the community’s refuse from the landfill and we are striving to increase our diversion rate for a cleaner and healthier environment.
